where do you keep your car keys, espcially those with remote attached to the key? i was wondering how the hell it could still unlock the doors after an hours or so underwater. (i am assuming no one is going to staying on the beach to guard your keys).

Drysuit pocket works for me on beach, boat and quarry dives :)

I use an old underwater backup flashlight: Remove the batteries; insert keys and cash (and a small weight) to keep it neutral. Hook it onto a ring or a pocket and you're set.

Once, however, I used OnStar -- it worked well (I borrowed a phone.)
Call and then lock your keys/phone in the vehicle.

"Please unlock my car at 11AM after I've finished my dives" :rofl3:

When I started beach diving I hadn't considered the key issue. I ended up keeping my keys in a buddy's car and he had a magnetic box in his wheel well. I went to my car dealer and got a metal key made that I keep in my bcd. The metal key will only open the car doors, not start the car.

I keep my regular keys in my pants pocket. So far, they've been there when I put pants back on after a dive.

They make dive boxes (different sizes that you can put in BC or clip on) my keys survive all the time. Deepest was 105 ft.

Just curious, would a regular ol' balloon work? I mean, put your key inside the balloon and then tie it up?

OP, with regards to the remote, I carry a copy of my key on a bolt snap clipped to my BP. I then put the remote and ignition key in the trunk, (hidden). I can then open my trunk (not alarmed) and get my remote to disarm/unlock my car.

Hard to tell, but this is a key. I clip it in a pocket.
