I think the bones should be replaced. From my understanding of the history of Key WEST, is that it was called Key Hueso. It is because the coral foundation did not allow for burial to remain buried for long. People found alot of human bones there.

In the same way, the bones you found might be similiar to the burial practices of natives of the keys. I would suggest leaving it where you found it.

I agree with the dentist, the mandible shown is not human. It look to me almost reptilian.

The femoral head does not look human. I'd have to look at my comparative anatomy book, but I am guessing porcine or bovine.
