Hola! I have been posting on RSD since a couple of months after it started its BB. For about a year, I posted there as "JD", cleverly gleaned from my first two initials, but changed to "jonathan" when an interloper kept posting under "JD". So, for about 7 years, I have posted on RSD as "jonathan", but since that username has apparently been taken here, I'm "originaljonathan" on this board.

I live in the Tampa/St. Pete, FL area. Practice law, solo, in a general civil law (an unkind friend says it's "door law" -- implying I take pretty much whatever comes in the door). Own with my best friend a 37' Roughwater flybridge sportfisherman of the twin-turbo-diesel variety ("Ocean Devotion"). Long ago retired from teaching, but certified as an instructor by PADI (OWSI #12349) and PDIC (#871). Something in the 2500-3000 total dives range, all warm water, by choice. Addicted to Cozumel, 38th trip scheduled for May, 2004. Spearfish in the Gulf of Mexico whenever possible. Have had the pleasure of diving with DocVikingo and the EDG from RSD's BB since established for Thanksgiving, 1998.

I have been a "sequential monogamist" -- 3 ex-wives paid off and kicked to the curb -- and blessed (or cursed, depending on their economic needs of the moment) with 4 kids, 18-29, and 2 grandkids, 2 months and 3 years.

Pretentious redneck from Mississippi originally (love estate-bottled St. Juliens with my neckbones and collards).

See ya in the wet spot.

welcome aboard!

Hello and welcome

Hello Original,

Hmm, you sound dangerous :D

In any case, welcome to the board. I'm sure that many of us will profit from your experience.

What do you love about Coz? I've shied away from it as I had the impression that there were big loads of divers on the reefs.

hasta luego, lobo.

Howdy there! :sunny

Welcome to SB!! :happywave Put us in your favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue:

Welcome to thr board from Gozo, Malta! Happy Safe Diving!

Coz diving is varied and very good. Viz often over 200 ft. WARM. A good dive op will get you to the dive sites before the herds, and also they will take you to sites less often dived. A Coz trip is usually a bargain, and the local people are very sweet and hospitable (although the "pod" people -- cruise ship passengers -- are eroding the happy interface of tourists and locals).
