A mothers love (Stenella frontalis (Atlantic spotted dolphin))

Mother and baby dolphin in Bimini. Mother is an Atlantic spotted (Stenella frontalis); father is a bottle nose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus). This pod allowed us to interact with them for over 3 ½ hours and was very exhausting.

Mothers are always protective of their children, often you see the kids on the OTHER side of the mother. In some cases she will allow you to approach the baby. When this happen it brings some very intense emotions just knowing that there is some type of unspoken bond.

This was taken in bimini in july. This is full frame.
