You only have to look at the number of recreational fishing boats with lines out in the Race Rocks or Chain Islets ecological reserves on an average weekend to realise how "serious" enforcement is.

I think I might be wrong about fishing being banned in Ecological Reserves. I just looked up the Ecological Reserve Act and it only says freshwater fishing is banned in some of them.

I learned a lesson when working with guy who routinely fishes the Howe sound. After he told me what kind of fish he caught and kept (basically every species you could think of) I never disclosed the specifics of location when discussing what I saw on my diving trips.

I prefer to fill them to the brim with large rocks.
When they are obviously not where they should be...
