Hello there!

I've found this message board to be very interesting and informative and the perfect distraction from studying for finals! (perhaps this is a negative aspect, well see in a week or two :p)

I've decided to try my hand at SCUBA. The reason? I think it has to do with the strong tug I feel towards the ocean. Living in Newfoundland, my culture has revolved around the sea. Up until 1990, Newfoundland was known worldwide for its fishery off the Grand Banks. Also, my study in Biology has given me huge respect and awe for the creatures on our little blue marble in space; especially towards our marine friends. To me, there is nothing so precious as life itself, and I only want to learn more about it.

Any questions? It would be my pleasure to answer them! You can e-mail me if you wish... I use MSN a lot

:wave:Welcome to the Scuba Board. :hi: Fun place to hang out, compare, argue, etc. :thumb:

For best results, ensure that you have "Use 'Email Notify' by default" under your Options marked "YES" and :type: add Scuba Board to your computer's Favorites List so you can check in easily and often.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome! I'm new as well and also very interested in the ocean and everything that lives in it. Good luck...there's lots to learn.

Hello Pelagic,

I too am new to this site and have found it very fun and informative. I have always loved the water. Boating, waterskiing, fishing, even snowmobiling on the frozen stuff! The Great Lakes have always been my neighbors, and have never appreciated them more than I do now that I have discovered scuba diving. Now if the Oceans were a little closer......... Take care.

I recently became a member as well and have found a wealth of knowledge here. Folks are more than willing to share opinions and provide information. I've found that using PM (Personal Messaging) is a great way to get specific answers from a member to questions you feel they can anwer for you.

Have fun!

This is by far the most interesting board I've come across and am happy that you found it. Yes. the ocean is still a new frontier and hopefully the caretackers are will keep it as pristine as we found it.

Enjoy the Holidays

Hey! Another Crazy Canuck! Welcome!

Nice to see another canuck on the board. Hows the weather where you are?
We're hovering around freezing, just enough so there will be an Ice dive this weekend just a little north of Toronto at a small lake/big pond called Musselmans Lake. But there is still plenty of open water on the larger lakes.

How did you choose your name? That's quite a handle.

Have fun on the board. :fish:
