What a great day yesterday was for me!

I got to visit and dive Dutch Springs for the first time. I've seen it mentioned on SB so many times and was curious to see it. So my AOW class and a couple of instructors went there to do our final AOW dives. It is the final weekend of the season for Dutch Springs (with the exception of some SI only weekends). We had a great time and we all completed our class dives successfully. And that leads to the second reason why yesterday was so great .....

I got my AOW certification! Yee ha!

We did three dives. The first dive was at the old sump pump and tower. We went to the bottom (80") and did our timed tasks. That dive was OK but the second was to the helicopter and then to the firetruck and one of the old boats. All very cool.

The last dive was along the underwater cliffs from the center docks along the shoreline back to the tower. That was my favotite dive because we dove along the cliffs. I love diving structure like that. Lots of bass and a couple of trout tagged along with us. Our instructor told us they like to do that especially if you turn over rocks and such so they can try to grab an easy meal (litle minnows and crayfish that hide under the rocks).

All in all, some neat diving and we didn't get to see everything.

oh and thank you.
