I'm a Fish!
Since we have had marginal weather for the past few days here (clearing up from tomorrow hopefully) I haven't been able to get wet, so have spent some time on the computer.

Here's my pink anemonefish taken with my Canon A20, internal flash. I did a bit of cropping, did the mandrake on it and resized it for posting.

Hope you like it! Any comments welcome.

Beautiful photo! Thank you for sharing it

What is "mandrake" ?? ... some sort of photoshop maneuver ?

I'm still trying to figure out how to better "clean-up" my photo's ... the default "Auto Color Correction" helps, but it ain't perfect !

Check out Gilligan's web site for how to do "mandrake" process. He has written very easy directions and I think it comes from a post by David Kusner (aka mandrake). I can't find the link right this minute, but it is a great tool.

I am also really liking using the "level" correction drop down menu to control Red, Green & Blue. Not very good at it yet, but having a great time playing around with it all.

Alcina,

That is a gorgeous shot. Thanks for posting.

Nice Skunk Clown fish!! I have one in my tank!

Very nice pic alcina.

The "mandrake process" is not usually for photos that were taken with an internal or external strobe, but mostly for photos taken with only the ambient light as it replaces the red that is lost at depth. The process is on my PT-010 site. "mandrake" is David Kusner from digitaldiver.net.

Thanks, everyone, for the very nice words!

Yeah, I guess I wasn't clear before when I pointed to your site.

I was just playing with it to see what would happen. And I think it worked pretty well in this case. Haven't tried it with any other flash pictures. Perhaps I will find that it only worked because of these particular colours or something.

hnlandue - here we call these "pink anemonefish" Amphiprion perideraion but we also get a fish we call "skunk" or "orange" anemonefish Amphiprion sandaracinos which does not have the white stripe on the cheek - only along his back, hence "skunk". Which is strange because I have never seen a skunk in Australia...must be taken from old Pepe le Pew cartoons LOL

Very nice!
