I don't know much about these tanks except that they can be used to supply air to some pellet/painball guns. of course they must either be within hydro or able to be hydro'd (sp?)

I believe that i want steel because its smaller/ lighter on land..... or do i have the backwards?

TIA,
Danny

steel tanks are usually heavier than alum. all tanks must be in hydro to get a fill. steel tanks go up to 3500 psi (some), most alum are 3000 psi (some 3300). an 80 cf tank holds 80 cf when its full, regardless of psi rating. an 80 cf tank is pretty large and heavy. you probably want a carbon fiber one, but keep in mind that most scuba shops can only fill to 3000-3500 psi, not the higher pressures many carbon fiber ones are rated to. Check any scuba supply website for specifics on various tanks (weight, psi, volume, etc...)
