hey all,

new here and really the only diving i've done is freediving off our coast and some spearfishing in okinawa. my main passion is fishing, from the surf and kayak. lately i've been after soupfin and 7 gills from the beach and looking for info from any divers that may have had some recent sightings. a spot i've been concentrating on right now is in la jolla, north or palomar rd. and south of the point with little success. another site a frequent just started a shark tournament for surf fishing, i've got the leopards dialed in but could use some help on the other species. oh ya, im from oceanside and will travel from san clemente to coronado no problem.

thanks in advance!

You are probably not going to get much help on how to catch a shark on here. You may, but probably not.

Lot of shark watching folks on here.

I think you need to research things before you just start killing now a days. Dr. Bill can help you on that. I am not against hunting at all, I hunt somtimes too but there is a time, place and species to do it. Use descression.

Maybe you should re-write your post - as there seems to be a trend that people didn't understand it. A trend like that points towards a failure to communicate, rather than multiple failures to comprehend.

Some punctuation, capitalisation and paragraph coherency would help matters enormously.

To summarise, so this thread can progress;

1) He's not a scuba diver, but has done some freediving before.
2) When freediving in Okinawa, he did some spearfishing.
3) He currently enjoys fishing from surf and kayak, in California.
4) He has had no success locating Six-Gill sharks, or species other than Leopard Sharks, at the California sites he visits.
5) He wondered if the scuba divers on this regional forum could direct him to a suitable location, based upon their shark sightings when scuba diving.
6) He can travel from San Clemente to Coronado to investigate potentially rich shark-fishing sites.

Added in addendum:

a) His fishing is catch, photograph and release.
b) He is specifically asking about surf fishing locations.

Hope that helps!

Just remember, if you need help with your English.... ask an Englishman :D
