I have just made a post about swimming with a whaleshark. I am posting here, too, to say how pleased I was with my 5050. We had to jump into the water really quickly with just fins and mask and I just grabbed my housing (minus strobe). I used the video function to take a short clip so now I have a fantastic memento of swimming with the majestic creature. It is not the most accomplished footage in the world but it is evidence. I don't use the video function much on the 5050 but I'm glad I remembered about it in my excitement. It was hard taking pics while finning hard to keep up with the whaleshark so the video is a bit jumpy! Ditto for stills but here is one. I had my wide angle lens in my bc pocket but as we were snorkelling, I didn't have it with me. So I didn't really get the chance to take a long/wide shot.

Video can be seen at http://www.sublimescubaphotography.com/whaleshark.mov

It is 12 seconds long and 4mb size wise and a quicktime file.

Here is a pic for those who don't want to download video.

I love my 5050!!. :D

Very nice!
