4yr old Alum80 with Air

What happens to the air in an Alum80 tank which has not been used for 4yrs. Is it safe to breath?

As in previous thread... I have been away from diving... and one of the old stuff is the air in the Al80

so it won't go stale right? breatheable... tank is due for it's 5yr chk... i wana use the tank for pool training for my kid . just to try out scuba. he's starting to get around it.

At the very least breathe several puffs of air air yourself... and smell the air before you use it.

It will be fine to breathe. Gas doesn't go off. If it's under pressure nothing can get in there. Crack on and use it.

definitely... i'll breathe on it for a minute before he does... he's still 7 going 8.. and asking a lot of questions... will probably do bubble maker at 8yrs old.

Nah won't go stale or anything. There's like zero humidity and nothing for the air to react with inside the tank.

If it smells ok it's fine.

Give the tank to your kid, if he passes out, you should dump it and have it serviced. This is why we have kids, someone to cut the lawn, get you a bowl of ice cream, let the dog out and test how good four year old gas is....

It should be fine, I guess it depends on how much you like the kid....
