Ben_ca:
Thanks to Mark for taking me out on my first Ab Dive.

I got there late so Mark had already been in for a while and was taking a break. What a trooper he jumps right back in with me and coaches me thru it.

Mark: "How's your weight? are you neutral at 15?"

Ben: "Let me check-dives down, back up- yeah"

Mark: "Dives down- Dude that's only 8 feet!"

Anyway great time... breathtaking views on the drive over and back. I hit the dive shop in Bodega Bay on the way back and almost scouted out Doran jetty for a future dive spot but didn't feel like paying 5 bucks just for a look-see.

I've heard that abalone hunter cannot use tank, is that right?

So great to see the North Coast starting to take hold. I spoke with a popular holdout a few weeks ago, mentioned setting up a gas fund for him and asked him for a date on when he would dive up here, afraid to say he didn't give a good answer.

I must have missed you guys by just a bit. I took a newbie out this weekend, dove up on the headlands and then on sunday saw that the swell was way worse. People were getting pounded and I didn't think it was necessary to take them into those sort of conditions. So we took a nice sunday drive down the coast to Bodega.

Ben_Ca,
On Doran, just say the word. Right now the place is starting to crawl with dungies just waiting to be picked like so many apples off a tree.

Hey, I could be convinced to join in on a crab festival too :)
