Ok so part of this is a question and part of it is just bragging. My wife and I have been planning and saving for about a year to be able to return to Roatan to dive and relax from 12/17-1/10. Needless to say we are very excited. This time we are bringing our 4 children (4,2,and twin 1 yo). Sounds like fun huh. We will be diving with our favorite dive shop ever, coconut tree,

The only thing i was concerned about was going during the rainy season and the vis because of that. What has the weather and vis been like?

I went 2 years ago on Jan. 20 and it was the end of the rain season. It rained every day but not for long. I'm going this time on Feb. 20 2010. Dec. and Jan. are cheep because off season. The weather is 77 to 82 deg. vis was good in Jan. I saw a post that the vis in Nov. was bad. Had 100 + in Jan. Awesome diving there very healthy reefs. Im looking forward to going back.

This time of year, that's an often posed question- Here's the story:

from a SEVEN-YEAR Period.....

Month.... Average Temp... Average inches of rain... Average rainy days
January......76.9.........................12.18..............................13
February.....78.6..........................3.52................................8
March.........80.6..........................2.66................................4
April...........82.0............................9.6...............................3
May............83.4..........................2.11...............................4
June...........84.4...........................2.22..............................5
July............84.4...........................6.35.............................11
August........84.4...........................5.21..............................11
September...85.0..........................4.99...............................7
October.......82.4...........................14.97.............................14
November....79.1...........................19.89.............................18
December....78.0............................14.26............................16

When it gets cold in Houston, two days later, a Norther will likely descend upon the Bay Islands.

Its been pretty good so far, the vis on the reef is never too bad regardless of how much it rains, there is always a good selection of divesites that will offer calm clear conditions, it sometimes gets a little milky in the first ten feet when it is really pissing down.
