Does anyone have any good ideas for a bag or pouch to protect the second stage from scratches and minor impacts? Something for added protection in a standard regulator bag. Cheap and easy to come by. Funky is good. Neoprene is a plus, but not necessary.

I use them to pad stuff in the reg bag and under my Altamas when diving for padding and a little warmth.

There is also the low height:

Is this for transport or underwater?

Regulators are designed to be pretty tough. Obviously you can't drive a truck over them, but they are -- within reason -- resilient. Especially in use where they may be crushed underneath cylinders, etc.

You can get bags to put them in when transporting but I find they're pretty useless as the zips will seize up with the moisture juices (YKK -- why do you use a rubbish alloy that corrodes for the zip fastening?!?)

If travelling, just coil them up and put them in the suitcase/valise. Make sure they're dry and you've a cap on the valve seat.

Scratches are just patina. Shows you've been diving.

Mine just go in a milk crate with the rest of my immediate need gear. Lights, wetnotes, spools, reels, etc..
