The chair we use when we are working on the computer broke the other day...so today, when Roger got a surprise day off we went looking.

There is this "store" that sells the furniture that hotels get rid of when they remodel. You can get some really nice, high quality stuff at a good price i.e we purchased a Zenith TV, about 28 or so inch (I think) for one of the care homes I work at for just $100 - a great TV in excellent condition.

Anyway, we tested all the chairs they had and picked a very nice upholstered wicker chair. The tag read $35 and 2/$25. To us, this meant if you buy one you pay $35 - if you buy two you pay $25 each.

Well, Roger takes the chair to the counter and the guy looks at the tag and says "I don't see why they would charge $35 for one and if you take two only $25. I'll make you a good deal, $12.50 plus tax"...I look at Roger...Roger looks at me while he pays - We didn't argue....

Here's the math involved:

X (Y) = Z

X= actual price of chair :11:
Y= IQ of sales clerk (a negative number, always) :05:
Z= realized bargain :D
