I searched and found that 2010 thread asking about the <Edit> option on new posts, and understand the reasons (abuse). I would think 99% of users wouldn't abuse it to change old posts for malicious reasons though, or has your experience on SB shown otherwise?

Is there any chance of getting a bigger window (like 2 or 3 days), just for convenience in editing mistakes, adding info, etc. without cluttering the thread with extra posts. Or must those requests always go to a Mod? Just a thought, thanks.
