I think the Hogs really exposed the Gators lack of offensive firepower yesterday. No deep passing game, running game is one dimensional. If Aaron Hernandez gets injured, they are in deep deep trouble. Even with him, watching yesterday's game I really wonder how the Gators could beat the elite defenses in Div 1A like USC and 'Bama. I am switching my picks for the title game to those two (not impressed by Texas either).

The lack of playing time of USC transfer Emmanuel Moody (running back - power & speed) confounds myself and a great many other Florida fans as exhibited on UF sports forums...

Ironically, the AP Top 25 switched Florida and Alabama this week.

From an interview with one of the voting members today on ESPN, he said that he also voted for Alabama for the first time this week, based on Alabama was more consistant and was playing better.

so it comes down to this? who will take it in Atlanta ?

Originally I thought it would be Florida. However, seeing how Florida played against Tennessee and how they could have been easily beaten by Arkansas this past weekend.... I think Alabama could be a heavy contender to beat Florida in Alabama.

Even though with all changes in the polls, I don't think this will deter Florida. If anything it will light a fire under Tebow, which he'll take to the rest of the team.

I think the boy lives off of being the underdog. Being #1 so early and for so long was cramping his style! :D

FWIW, there are a slew of teams in the SEC that can beat ANYONE out there if the Football gods smile on them a bit, and that includes Florida. HOWEVER, it's kind of nice to see them snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat rather than the other way around! While the Hogs played one heckuva game, they are still probably kicking themselves with "what if we had..." scenarios.

The spotlight is still white hot on Florida and also on Alabama. Look for their opponents to come in to each game lusting for an upset. We have Mississippi next week and then UGa after that... both conference games and both with chips on their respective shoulders. It could get ugly real fast.

.

Speaking of kicking themselves.... their kicker cost them the game. two missed field goals. Either one would have put them ahead in points.....

So did the Florida kicker. There were some cross winds at altitude I think. Our kicker made an adjustment.

That being said... I bet Tebow would have found HIS way into the end zone if they were ahead by 3 or 6. He has an indomitable will.

Good analysis. Urban Meyer has a way of having his teams peak when it matters most, i.e. SEC Championship game and BCS Championship. We will see how it plays out this year though. I am not totally enamored with the new OC's play calling.

I think most of us are agreed that Florida does not currently scare defenses deep - so Tebow is looking too long for plays that were there last year, but not so much anymore...
Alabama is looking tough all around, but they are increasingly going to face stacked defenses until the long ball proves a threat. That said, they have shown they can grind out yards against 8-in-the-box...
Congrats to Arkansas for going into the Swamp and owning the place for 57 or so minutes (joining Auburn and Mississippi in recent years...)
Non-SEC Thought: how does USC get to #4???
Additional Non-SEC Thought: congrats to a couple of Techs, Georgia and Texas, for some quality wins. Who would have thunk the Red Raiders would go into Lincoln and kick butt...

Anyone feeling a massive suction vortex in here????
