Ive been to every UT game the last four years, and alcohol flows everywhere. Funny seeing the differences in the different stadiums. Here its always Jack. Kentucky has Jim. In Florida it looked like a lot of rum.

And whats this weekend diving with Vols?

I'll take Florida...;)

As for some states, having alcohol on state property is against the state law. Thus it's not allowed in state owned stadiums. Of course somehow the University president was able to skirt this law when he had private receptions for big donors and they served alcohol at them. (go figure).

At Jordan Hare, they sell (or used to sell) these lemonaid slushy's. Folks would sneak in vodka and mix it in them.

but at the Student Ticket gates, they had police at every gate and you got patted down and searched for alcohol because of people sneaking it in and getting too drunk. Students will adapt. They would just sneak it in using ziplock freezer bags which were hard to tell (compared to glass bottles) during pat-down.

after the game, you'd see dozens or hundreds of empty ziplocks lying all over the stands in the student section. :rofl3:

somehow I'm betting you'd do the SEC stadium tour and have a blast doing it! :D

My first Iron Bowl attendance was a few years ago in Tuscaloosa. After the game we made our way through the student section. It was like a mini bar genocide.:rofl3::rofl3:

seriously, I wish I had some pictures of some of the places after the parties after games. I've never seen so many empty beer cans in my life.! :rofl3:

Our campus is the same way. Technically you should get a citation for having a tailgate party that includes beer. While UT tries to enforce this on students during the normal school days, they could care less on gameday, assuming you aren't out of control.

As for getting it in, we have the pat downs, but a good number of students know where they aren't allowed to pat down. Toss a bottle or two there, and go right on in. I like the ziplock idea though. Ill remember that.

Ill try to get some pictures this year of various student sections. That would make a nice photo album.

If the alcohol was in "plain view"on campus and cops saw it, then it was a violation. Whether or not you got a ticket for it (or arrested) all depended on the cop and your attitude with him. But then again, I rarely saw anyone get cited or arrested unless they were blatenly drunk and acted up to the cop. usually just poor out your beer and they didn't check your cooler. So when the cop left, just pop open a new one. :rofl3:

Most of the big fraternity parties (or other parties) typically hired off duty police as security for the party. Here you could openly drink at the party in clear view of the police and they did nothing. Even lots of underage drinking done in front of them. go figure....

Yeah... knowing where to hide it in a pat down helped. They seem to give males a more thorough search and not so much females. Also patting down a female could cause "touching issues". So.... with that being known, we let the girls be the "mules" sneaking it in as they could ge by the pat downs easier w/o being detected. (remember the girls wanted their 'drink' in the stadium just as bad as others did). :rofl3:

.... So thats why you want to get denise to go on an SEC tour?

You going to be at the UT-AU game by the way? I get to check Jordan Haire (sp?) off my list of stadiums this year.

I don't have tickets for any games this year, and thanks to AU being ranked pre-season again and internet ticket scalpers, decent seats are hard to come by unless you want to pay $300/seat.

I'm working on some games though... :D

Now Matt you know me. If I did sneak any in I wouldn't share it. :D

Some friends from work and I (we're all VOLS fans) are going to LLM this Saturday. A new SB'er, "Silverback" may go with us and he's a "dawg" fan, so I was just wondering if he wanted to actually slum with us.:D
