If Auburn doesn't improve in the next several weeks, Alabama is going to steam roll right over them.

I don't think that Franklin was surprised that he was fired.... maybe he thought he'd get another chance with Arkansas, but he knew his performance was low as Auburns offense is the lowest ranked in the SEC.

So in reality, who was responsible for having Franklin there in the 1st place???..Lowder 'the jet--We Want Bobby who is a useless coach'??...lol...ummm, I'm thinking tubby was front & center there...The stupid thing about all this is auburn has/had it's chances @ becoming a national powerhouse----but greed got to them.....I would not expect anything less of them....

yep.... of course Tubervill fired him the same day that he also said that he was key as offensive coordinator (or some other wording...)

but of course we know Tuberville has contridicted himself before. (like the only way he'd leave Mississippi is in a pine box.... and he was on the Jet to Auburn right after that).

THey have the potential of being a National Powerhouse almost every year. but as a friend of mine has said before during a game when Auburn was head and thought we'd for sure win, "no the games not over yet. Auburn still has time to screw it up"

on anoter note.....
Interesting Article in the paper this morning about Saban and how his high salary is paying off at Alabama in donations, ticket sales, merchandize sales, etc.

of course he's paying his way---did so @ LSU even after becoming the highest paid coach in the nation following the beat down of Stoops in Jan '04's NC game(had a clause in his contract stating so by $1).....problem with alabama is he's only going to be there 2 more years---tops(guy's got a problem, a mental one)...Who they going to buy off next??--so far they're only 1 for 4........

well the Alumni will "buy off" a coach if they don't like him. The University had a "buy out" of several million to get rid of Shula. The Alumni backers had no problems coughing up that money to get rid of him.

Interesting thing I read about Shula in that article though was that he was making $5million/year at Miami. He left for $4million at Alabama.

Interesting as most people don't voluntarily take a $1 million dollar pay cut.

so either a.) he really didn't like the pro's and wanted to get back to college.

or b.) They might have been talking about getting rid of him at Miami and he was getting out "while the getting was good".

2 things----when I said buy out I meant what next coach replacing nicky boy will they try to go buy and (2)you meant nicky making 5 then 4 mil, right??...& btw, the reason he left, they were going to can his azz--Huizenga was about to fly the jet the other way on ole nicky........

well I imagine that Auburn will fall off the ranking charts after this week.

Sad thing is I hate to see Vandy get beat. For once they were on a roll! :D

Florida LSU game is good though.... of course it has enough time for anything to happen.

Just one quick question, should Alabama get the number 1 spot while they were idle this week?

well they didn't.... Texas got number 1

LSU dropped as expected after smashing defeat by Florida from #4 to #13
Of course Florida rose from #11 to #5
Georgia stayed the same
Vandy dropped form #13 to #22
Auburn fell from #20 to off the list
