My husband & I have DAN Family/Standard Membership Insurance. We plan on doing quite a bit of traveling this year & quite a bit of dive instruction such as Tech Diving for my husband. We plan to up our insurance and started shopping around. Since we could be diving deeper than 130 and using nitrox +, some policies just don't seem to fit our family needs. As we also cover our son, it seems we need three separate policies! So, does anyone recommend an Insurance Company other than DAN, or is DAN still our best choice? I've read recommendations in 2001 & 2002. Just wondered if there have been changes to policies for 2003 that we need to consider. (You know, also any small print that we might have missed.)
Thanks for all your suggestions:)

Dawn,

I know it has been mentioned numerous times on this board, but have you read "The Last Dive"? It isn't just about the folks who didn't make it. The author suffered a severe hit of DCS and survived after a long recovery time.

If you are shopping for life insurance, it is one thing. But watch out for exclusions. When I got my disability insurance, they excluded anything resulting from diving.

Dan (and perhaps PADI) cover medical items that most regular insurance companies do not cover. They cover more than life.

I recommend doing a search on this board for discussions that have already taken place.

Good luck and please dive safely!
