FOUND THIS ON THE WEB //IS THIS OLD NEWS?// Cylinders used for scuba diving: Remove all AA5283 scuba cylinders from service immediately. The new SMG recommendation reiterates all previous regulatory agency mandates for removal and further recommends removal of all AA5283 scuba cylinders not covered by prior mandates.SMG: Ruptures in high-pressure cylinders - Gasworld.com News .Is this the same aluimium that was causing cracks in the necks of bottles?

Looking at the link, this seems to be a different issue with some French manufactured cylinders made of a different aluminum alloy than the AL 6351-T6 used by Luxfer.

I don't know if there is any other relation, other than they are both aluminum alloys.

I will look more into it later.

Thanks for the link.
