I'm sure this has been covered before but... What's normal for for socal doubles divers? 200 bar manifolds or 300 bar manifolds? I thought everyone around here mostly used 200 bar equipment but I see a lot of 300 things for sale online and on the classifieds. Thanks! I also can't remember if my reg din is 200 or 300... yeesh, take a year off from regular diving to switch hobbies and I forgot a lot...

Thanks!

Most likely your reg is 300 bar. That way it will fit 200 & 300 bar tank valves. As long as your reg has a 300 bar fitting, a couple of extra threads, it doesn't really matter what the tank valve is.

Some swear by 200 bar valve fittings, others swear by 300 bar valves. I just swear.

The valves with the removable insert to convert from yoke to din are 200 bar din.

I use 300bar manifolds, goes with the 300bar 1st stages, my cylinders are 232bar only. If I recall correctly 300 bar is the standard for cave. When using doubles you want to increase the amount of breathing gas you have, why then limit yourself to 200bar???

The 200 bar designation for your DIN valve does not stop you from filling your tank to 232 bar. The 200/300 bar din ratings are little more than a slang terms. If you're using a convertible yoke/DIN valve, the valve will probably have it's working pressure stamped on the valve, & in Oz at least, that is 232 bar. It doesn't matter weather you use the yoke or DIN attachment, the valves maximum stated pressure remains the same.

The only time you really need to use a 300 bar din valve is if you are using a 300 bar tank. In which case the maximum rated pressure on the valve will be 300 bar, & the valve will have a couple of extra threads.

It doesn't matter weather you're using singles or manifold doubles, 200 bar din valves can be filled to 232 bar.

You almost *certainly* have a 300 bar reg.

As for which manifold, simple: it's doesn't matter. I'd shop on price.
