You are a good soul DD. :):):callme::callme:
I figured better to give them to someone with layovers expected rather than let them expire and thought offering them here was a fair approach. The envelope was a little thick as I left them on the card, so I took it inside the PO here to check. I didn't want it returned to me for additional postage as I don't check my mail every week so he would have thought it was lost. Glad that we don't have lines at country post offices. It was fine and should arrive this weekend.

Receiving a pair of passes every year with the United Visa card would make the $100 fee easier to accept, along with the free checked bags if I flew them a little more. I don't fly as much these days tho, have no brand loyalty when I shop for the few trips I do fly a year, and I really try to avoid long layovers. I wasn't using the Visa card for anything as I'd changed to one that gives me 2% cash back, a lot more rewarding than impossible to use FF miles. I'll buy something thru United's or American's E-shopping now and then to keep the accounts from going dormant and losing what I had, but they are so difficult to use these days.

I so miss Continental and Delta, the latter having pulled out of West Texas after I bought some extra FF-miles on my daughter's account, but before we could use the miles we have there. Delta miles don't expire, and we both have Million mile status with them from the old days, but I hate the idea of driving or flying to DFW to start a trip.

@DandyDon - What a great idea. I just noticed that I have a pair of "One-time pass" that expire 7/31/2018. My wife insists that we only go to places where we can get a non-stop flight, so we just never use these. As DD stated above, if you have a long layover on a United Flight let me know, and they are yours. It might be tough to get these to you before a Thanksgiving trip, but can probably make a long layover for Christmas and later a little more comfortable. PM me with your details.

I don't know how many will see your kind offer on page 2 of my thread, but I nominate this fellow. You might Personal Message him...
I've got 6 hours traveling United in Houston on the way to Cozumel, would love to take you up on this if still available!

Thanks, @DandyDon. @Michael_J was the first to respond. I'll get the passes in the mail in the next day or two or just as soon as I know where to send them.

Man did these come in handy. Had about 6 hours of lounging time at LAX after a long and wet trip leaving Fiji. Perfect way to be able to relax comfortably.

Thanks again.

Wow, you did need those. Glad I could help.

You get a couple for free applying for first year free United Visa card, and two more right before you cancel a year later, along with luggage discounts on tickets purchased on the card. Next time you plan a big trip with United, get the card. :)

I also got a lot of FF-miles on United by using the card the first month, but they are worse than American about letting you spend them.
