I wondered if anyone still dived on the paddlewheeler in Gulf Shores. I really liked that site.. was lucky enough to do this dive right after hurricane Fredrick ripped thru there in 1979.. every bit of the old ship was uncovered then and we were able to get all the way down to the keel.. actually got some lobsters from under the boilers. Had some pics of it taken about then but can not seem to find them now... for several years after that the ship would be uncovered by several small storms and we managed to map the whole thing in a DM class... :14:

Welcome to ScubaBoard,

I don't suppose you still have any of your old maps of the site? Not a ton of relief right now, but more than the past decade or so, from what I hear - it'd be nice to see whats under the sand :)

By the way, keep its location secret

found a lot of unusual sea creatures close in to shore after that huge storm.. spearfishing was very good.. along with some huge deep water sharks....

I am looking thru my old logs and papers now and will upload one of the drawings as soon as I find it....still looking for the pics we took too.

Thanks, looking forward to them :)
