Heading to Bonaire for the first time in October. This will be my first dedicated dive trip. Staying at Eden Beach. Any pointers?

Eden Beach is really nice. You'll be using Wannadive, and it is extremely convenient. If you want a really cool dive, go with Bart (he's a trip onto himself) and dive the wild side.

Have thick(er) soled boots to protect your footies.

While it can get very crowded, try to fit in the night dive at Town Pier. Very cool.

My favorite night dive spot (diving on my own) is off Yellow Submarine (across from Y.S.'s main location). Easy entrance and exit, sandy bottom (often with octopuses) for a hundred yards and then a nice gentle slope over the reef.

Be prepared for the tarpon when you do night dives. They are big, fast and have no fear. They'll follow your light beam to their intended targets. Spooky at first.

If you dive a lot, your toes may start to get chewed up. Bring bandaids (I like surgical tape) or socks to wear under your booties.

You are in for a great time!

Hi ; My two cents: The shore diving is fabulous but be sure to wear high ankle boots, shorty or full, because the coral at the get in points can be hard to navigate through without getting cut. Just my two cents. Have a great time.
