Hello Everyone,

I am planning on going to Rangiroa for a couple of days and then I have a flight to Bora Bora. My question is: "Do I need the 18 to 24 hours break before I fly to Bora Bora? I heard that if they don't fly over 10,000 feet, it is ok to to dive less than the 18 to 24 hour?

Also, I was wondering when is the best time of the year to see the humpbacks in Rangiroa and are the dolphins there all the time or only certain parts of the year.

Thank-you for all your input.

No - you do not need to wait to fly - Air Tahiti fly low because "FP looks after their divers" you will also find many of the pilots themselves are divers. I flew BB > Rangi and could see coral all the way - I landed at 12.30 and was diving Tipuata at 3pm.
Humpbacks generally show up in June and are usually around Moorea and Tahiti more than BB or Rangi - dolphins are at Rangi almost every day. The only reason I didnt fly the day of my flight from Rangi to Moorea was to let my gear dry out.
Also the planes from Rangi are often delayed by hours so if you have a tight connection be prepared to make changes...my flight was 6 hours late!

Thank-you Wingy for the Information. I am excited about the fact that I don't have stop diving 18 to 24 hours before I fly.
