TNX, RIO. We'll come say 'hi' if we don't like it out here.

I cant make it tonight but have fun

Great night dive.

We dove out of Lot 3 at Beavertail.

hit the water about 8:10pm (2010 for us military types)
Had very good vis. I thought it was just shy of 10' but group vote had it at about 12'+ Lots of marine life. Good night for a dive. Air temp was about 66 water temp at depth was 61.
we did a 60 foot dive for 33 minutes.

This weekly gathering is gaining momentum lets keep it going.

Where and when Next week?

John

The dives went well last night.

First dive was at Beavertail (parking lot 3) with Chris, John, Terry and someone else who's name escapes me. Entry was a little awkward and our surface planning could have been a little better but all in all it was a good dive. Entry/exit point was marked with a seperate flag w/glowstick attached. Vis was around 12ft although this is debatable. Max depth of 60fsw with a total dive time of 32 minutes. My tank size was the limiting factor in this dive (steel 72cf 2100PSI) and I spent a lot of my air clearing a flooded mask on entry (damn hoods...). IN@20:09, OUT@20:41, Avg Depth: 38fsw, Temp: 64F.

Chris and I went over to Ft. Wetherill for the second dive and did the right cove (boat ramp). I lost a fin strap at Beavertail (we went back and looked for it; THANKS Chris) so I ended up making one with surgical tubing and zip ties (works pretty well actually). The dive was a simple follow the wall out and back but it was fun. I left the hood in my truck for this one and didn't have any mask problems. TONS of bioluminescence and lots of large, keeper lobsters. Max depth of 33fsw with a total time of 65 minutes. Same tank size and fill pressure. IN@22:45, OUT@23:50, Avg Depth: 22fsw, Temp: 67F.

Now.... what's up for next week :)

Sounds like fun. We had great time in Nahant as well. The vis was 12-15ft, temp was 62 or so. Beavertail next time, I guess.

These dives sound like they're quite fun.

I'd like to connect for one of them in a couple weeks, after I'm back from diving in Mexico. I leave tomorrow. :eyebrow:

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Michael

I've been busy this last week, I just got my Rescue Cert.

All I can say keep up the great work. GREAT DIVE PLANNING IMO. I'm very delighted to see everyone had a great dive. I'm considering setting up a camsite in BurlingGame state park so I can join you guys. Every night dive I've done in RI, I've almost fallen asleep at the wheel on the drive back so I need a close place to stay. Keep up the great work you guys and dive safely.
Eastcoastdiver would be proud of you all with the exception he would be diving the day after an operation to fuse his spine. :) lol

Congrats on the rescue cert.

We do tend to run a bit late. This dive had me getting home around 1am and I still had to get all my gear out of my truck, lay it out in the yard, take a shower and get in bed. I got in bed around 2am and had to wake up for 6am to get to work at 7. I was tired but I didn't care... I got to go diving the night before! :)

That campsite idea sounds good.
