The contest features photographs that reflect the importance that the coast and ocean has for California residents and the role that the Coastal Commission, Natural Resources Agency and Ocean Protection Council have played in preserving coastal and marine resources.

I'd have liked to submit some images of the areas seriously infested with the invasive Asian seaweed Sargassum horneri to point out how poorly CDF&W handled this threat and allowed most of the places I like to dive to become ecologically impacted to a very serious degree. Grrr. I plan to be traveling more during the winter and spring to avoid this ecological "disaster" in SoCal waters.
