This critter was still in the same location as on Dec. 8th's dive

Snowflake Eel
This critter was the star attraction of today's dive.
It stayed out in the open for at least ten minutes.

Jim I had a snowflake stay out in the open for several minutes at Ulua a few weeks back. Where were you?

Great shots once again Jim. I am envious of the snowflake eel series. I have seen them many times in the Sea of Cortez in Baja (and a few times at Cocos Island in Costa Rica) but they have always been spooky and I have only been able to get limited head shots. This one was very precocious and you really took advantage of that. Terrific photos. ++Ken++

Man, that Snowflake Eel is awsome.

Nice job Gilligan, I think you've mastered that 50/50 or 70/70 whatever it was that you are using. You also have a good sense for composition.

Even though not everyone comments, please keep them coming! Your photos are always wonderful!

Wow. The Snowflake Eel is just stunning. What a beautiful creature, and great photos of it. You should do a Hawkfish series. The Blackside Hawkfish in this set made me look back at the Redbanded Hawkfish from the day before to see if they were poking their heads out of the same reef. Both very pretty shots.

Wow -- I wonder if that's the same snowflake eel we saw at the same site, almost a year ago? Those are fabulous pictures. As seanmf says, even if we don't always comment, we enjoy the photographs.
