anyone have this? Im probly just gonna order one from FredT and save the $

I see no disclaimer stating otherwise so it appears that for $115 you are purchasing the STA, the straps, the stainless steel buckles and the cool Halcyon logos.

Most Cam straps with SS buckles go for about $35-$40 each plus the cost of the STA. $115 for Halcyon seems to be about right. Not cheap but right

The 2 piece STA I got from Fred T is excellent, and it sure weren't $115.00.

I made a no-weight version for free by cutting strips from an old PVC pipe, heating it to ply-able, then molding it over the Fred T STAs.

Does Fred have a website with a price list?

Also I have seen Halcyon STA's go for about $75 - $80 on ebay.

Homey, thats the weighted STA. There is 6 lbs of lead molded into the STA itself.

Using a standard SS plate, the weighted STA yields 12 lbs negative total;
Using a heavy 12 lb SS plate, the weighted STA yields 18 lbs negative total;
Using an aluminum plate, the weighted STA yields approximately 7 lbs negative total.

A weighted STA takes weight off your belt and puts it flat against your back. Here is a link, scroll down to the bottom:

That's why its more expensive than a non-weighted STA.

FWIW...

So he pays for the STA, [/b]the extra weight[/b], the straps, the buckles and the cool Halcyon logos? Or is it only the STA and weight he is purchasing?
