Never heard such tradition.

I just took a small white cloth with 100 written on it, took it underwater with me & had my dive buddy took a picture of it on my chest.

You will forfeit 10% of your sac rate if you don't go naked on dive 100!

Adding some jellyfish would forfeit even more SAC ... to be logged, the dive, need to have a minimum length ... depending to the agency :)

The water is full of critters with sharp teeth. I have had a stupid little sunfish draw blood from biting my one chest air. No way am I waving a shriveled up worm in the open water of quarry, lake, or ocean. It is a small appendage but it is my appendage and I want to keep it all intact.

If the water is cold enough you may not have to worry...

I am including all dives in the 100, training and otherwise.

When I hit the 100, I am definitely not sticking to the "tradition" - doing that in water here will cause frostbite in certain areas that I wish to remain 100% operational.

I was referring to my fingers and toes you dirty minded individuals!.

Yes, all dives count.

I just completed a couple of new 100s two weeks ago.

100th dive with my daughter and 100th dive this year :D

The whole "Naked 100th" thing never really caught on here in Tobermory.... the place where the temps at depth never get above 40°F. If anyone did, their sac rate shrinkage would be the least of their problems. Tobermory is NOT the place to impress the ladies with a skinny dip!

As for logging your OW checkouts, absolutely you should count them. I don't agree with some who believe in logging pool dives. After teaching for 25 years, I'd have about 20,000 dives! But certainly anything in open water should be logged!

Congratulations by the way!

...omissis...

Do they shrink too ? Your fins become loose and sloppy hence.

Congratulations by the way!

Oh yes, congratulation ... not for the shrinkage :)

Ya I was joking about the naked part. I bet they wouldn't let me back on the boat. I did a night dive last Summer without a wetsuit and when I got back in the boat I had hundreds of blood worms stuck to my chest hair, wouldn't want to think about it. When it comes I will enjoy it in silence.

I had never heard of blood worms! EEE YIKES! Sharks don't scare me as I can try to stay away from them, but blood worms. :vomit:
