Hi.
To me, the narcossis is less of a concern in such a dive - the high exposure to o2 would be my main concern.
Other than keeping your workload down, what precossions do you use?FFMs? more "traditional" safty divers? contingency plans?

Well, when you say "high exposure" I guess you mean PPO2. I calculate exposure as PPO2 x time, so given the relatively short bottom time (8 minutes including descent) *I* don't consider the exposure excessively high - YMMV. As such no specific precautions were taken against oxygen toxicity.

We did use safety divers etc I think that's covered in the OP from memory.

We all get old and die anyway, might as well have fun along the way!

DCS doesn't necessarily equate with death. Viagra's an amazing thing... I'd rather have physical use of my lower body extremities into old age. A spinal bend could put a definite cramp upon me eventually becoming the naughty old man that is my goal. ha ha

Tortuga68, Do you wear flame retardant clothing? Although this thread didn't seem to attract as many A-holes as your last one concerning deep air. If these capons had been around 60 years ago we'd still be wondering what lies below 100fsw! Thank God we had real men with balls back then, willing to take some risks. I was considering diving the USS Bass, 160 - 190 fsw on air but without a boat I can't get to a place to work up to it. There was a time I had access to 200fsw from a shore dive, no more, oh well. I've enjoyed your deep air threads. Safe diving.

lol, this one was quite cordial compared to the first two..

People might be interested to know what I've been doing since.. I'm still diving deep air, but I think the deepest I've been since the 100m dive is 84m, and did 72 recently.. Otherwise done a few 65s and 55s. definitely haven't been near triple figures again, partly because I haven't had the time to do the work up, but also I feel kinda been there done that about it.

I still think the dive plan is ok, for me anyway, and if you have the training/gear/experience. my two buddies have done 100-105 several times since; they have more time on their hands. No problems for either of them. They're both trimix now but still dive air.

Was there an objective to your subsequent dives—something to see—besides just attaining a depth?
