Ever since I got my certification last year, everybody has been giving me gift certificates from the LDS. I now have about $100 in gift certificates. I already own the basics (Several wet-suits, fins, goggles, gloves, hood, bc, tank, reg, computer, etc.). So, I thought I would throw it out to you - If you had $100 to spend at the LDS, what would you purchase? Any ideas? I thought about maybe putting it toward another pair of goggles or "scuba kit" (spare parts) or maybe toward a 3rd tank. What's your advise?

Maybe put it towards you next class, or buy some books.

Sounds like you have most of your gear and don't have a specific want; will the LDS allow you to use it toward a dive (trip)? :crafty:

Yeh, use it for diving. But I count safety first - extra back up small light, safety sausage, airhorn that fits on your BC inflator hose. Save a dive kit, extra batteries and seal for your computer, spring fin strap...

I second fisher's answer. All the "little stuff" can certainly add up. Buy a bunch of the "small stuff" focusing on safety, underwater communication, computer batteries, save a dive kit, etc...

Get yourself a good gear bag. I know I always buy the crappy $19.99 ones and they always start tearing after a couple weeks. Then you're walking around with that thing just tearing more and more. Inevitably, it will finally break open in some hot parking lot or on a dock where all your stuff falls in the water.

I like the idea of putting it towards a class or reference materials, or use it for any nice to have item that you wouldn't buy with your own money. These are all so personal its hard to make suggestions.

I agree with Crazy Fingers, I hated to spend the money for a mesh bag($30) but I broke down and bought one. I dont know how I got by without it, I hardly ever use anything else. I only get to do a boat dive about once a year but I use it for local diving also. Mine is an Oceanic but there are other good looking one also.
