If you ever have the chance to watch the 1980 USA vs USSR game, and you know what you're looking at, you'll see that the absolute best US player was Neal Broten. Mike Eruzione and Steve Christoff had boatloads of chances straight from Neal, and they failed, failed and failed.

Broten was definitely top shelf stuff! We feel fortunate to have been able to see him play "Live" when he played for the Minnesota North Stars. Definitely one of the best!

I've slammed Havlat quite a bit the past year and a half, and it has become obvious that his poor performance (numbers) stems from the fact that he is usually on a line with a bunch of hacks. The 2 games I've watched from start to finish, Havlat has been the absolute best player on the ice. Just ain't his fault that some schmuck can't finish, or catch a pass.

Exact same problem for Staal in Carolina. Its tough when your line mates are stone handed!

The Minnesota Wild SUCK!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know. But I still love 'em! Man, Backstrom just can't seem to win a game in a shootout! He seems to play pretty well in game situations, but when it comes to the shootout they might as well just write down the "L" on the Wild side of the score sheet and save their energy. :(

Yeah, he missed all 3 shots in the shootout. The second one went right thru his legs and hit the post on the far side.

But I won't totally blame him. The team is tied for third in goal scoring.

Third from the bottom!!!!

Boy Crosby is hotter than a pistol lately.
