No, I am not going to argue about the 3 Cu ft ones..., nor the 6 Cu ft ponies.... How about this cute little guy I've just seen in a shop. I think they said it can give you 15 breaths at the surface. Well, isn't that equivalent to about 7 breaths if you ascended at a constant rate from 100 ft and maximize your breathing by ascending at a correct rate. And wouldn't this be equal to only about 4 breaths if you stayed at 100 ft?

Should they even be marketing this to divers?

Isn't it cute how it is mounted just under the diver's chin? Image for Submersible Systems1 Cubic Foot Air Xtreme

Actually, the ad states that it's NOT FOR SCUBA DIVING OR SNORKELING ... I believe they're marketing it to kayakers and surfers ... people who might benefit from a breath or two while they're working their way out of a problem at or relatively close to the surface ...

You gotta admit, the guy in the photo looks pretty pissed off at having to wear one.

Automobile crash into a lake. Buying time to smash a window or allowing the pressure to equalize around the doors so you can open them.

Filling small lift bag.

Scaring away the fish.

Refilling with breath freshner.

Filling air into overturned canoe.

Surfing in heavy surf.

Ide say 13cf is the minimun Ide feel to use as a redundant supply and thats pushing it.

Inflating a lift bag ???????

Inflating a bicycle tire with the optional chuck

Yes, probably for white water kayaking. Seems neat and could work in some situations. 15 breaths is a lot more than 0 breaths. One possibly problem is that you might not be able to have your head in the right position to breath from it while trashed in a big hole.

Alleviating yourself of excess money.

It's interesting.

Here we have a product that is NOT even intended for scuba use but people bash it anyway.
