Just came across this and thought others might find it interesting. The wreck of the SS Kamloops in Lake Superior and its well-preserved partial crew corpses at the bottom...
Our third annual underwater cleanup is this Saturday in Marquette's Lower Harbor. Check out this link for the TV interview. Hope some foriends from the board can make it.
Just wanted to take a moment to say hello to all of you. I am brand new to this whole adventure, and eager to pick up as much experience as I can. One of the things I am most excited to do is get into Lake Superior and find a shipwreck. I am currently in process of open water cert. I am...
Does anyone know of scuba tour companies that go to the Apostle Islands?
I've had difficulty finding any resources for tours in the area or gear rental for scuba - though plenty of tourism websites including the NPS site say it's a popular dive spot. Is it only possible via a private boat...
The dive begins as a rock tour to the north of where the cliff jumpers loose their things, but we make our way there and do a little picking at the end of the video.
Th viz this day was incredible. Imagine chasing Tai fighters when I cruise the valleys. Some of you will get that.

A dive buddy and I checked out one of the original piers in Marquette and then examined the 85' high ore dock. Both a large part of our local history. Lake Superior is cooling now, but there is still a chance to get some dives in before the ice and famed Gales Of November.
People jump from the cliffs here into Lake Superior to cool off, and this year it's been exceptionally warm.
Above the thermocline the lakes been mid 60s and so it has been quite inviting. Of course a lot of people are losing stuff due to carelessness and so here goes another treasure dive :)
I just got back from a week of diving in Presque Isle (Lake Huron) and Whitefish Point (Lake Superior). One week is not enough! I'm planning on dedicating two weeks next year and hoping to get up to Rossport, ON to dive the Gunilda
I posted a detailed trip report here but I'll re-post abridged...
