I have reached many checkouts in online shopping and turned back after seeing the shipping charge.
Randy at Piranha Dive Mfg will quote pretty high shipping costs on his web page and then return anything above his actual cost. Pretty remarkable and commendable for an online retailer.
The old metal ScubaPro's should work just fine as long as they're not damaged. They worked 30 years ago and nothing's really changed.
Again, the variables are: IP, orifice condition and position, seat condition and position, and spring + balance chamber counterpressure.
Did you try it out before...
Personally, I would start out by setting the Conshelf to 130-135 and screw the second stage orifice in a touch. If that doesn't work I'd go shopping for a new orifice or spring. You might need a new lever, but as long as you have some flop in your lever with the diaphragm removed that isn't your...
I am an older diver, and have never had any indication of systemic DCS, but regularly fall victim to "skin bends". I suspect I have PFO.
I do not get skin bends when diving nitrox with an "air" profile.
Please don't tell me I'm going to die. At 76 that's becoming generally apparent.
I've had two Oceanic computers fail in that they apply an incorrect altitude adjustment offset. You can compare the dive planning screens on the computer with the printed data in the back of the manual to check.
I think it would take some effort to flood a Perdix. Its seal has nothing to do with how much you crank down on the battery compartment.
"many years of experience" sometimes translates to carelessness.
My diving Roatan, Cozumel, and Indonesia everyone seems to default to yoke. DIN seems to be no big problem, but a Yoke to DIN converter will most likely be a pain in the neck (or back of the head).
I have an 11T but I don't dive it because the port layout doesn't suit me. If Scubapro offered a Mk2T I could put all my Conshelfs to bed. I would think a 2T would be the easiest to design and machine. A structural analysis might come up with a first stage that is both smaller, and lighter.
As...
I've obtained my D350s and D400s on ebay. What I specifically look for is the dive/predive switch is square and not beat up, indicating use and care. Most importantly, the rubber cover maintains some shine, is not stretched out, and has no micro cracking or ragged appearance due to poor care and...
There's a variety of service kits for the D400 that I have a hard time keeping up with. That's one of the reasons why I send mine out.
If you're smart You'll take that square o-ring (oxymoron much?) and lose it if the dive/pre-dive switch is moving properly. Reportedly the most frustrating part...
