I second Pacific Rim Divers! Just dove with them in May and had a fantastic time. Small boat and group. Cool boat mascot.
It was a very different experience than my manta night dive. I used Big Island Divers, and felt like we were being herded like cattle. Though I can imagine any dive boat is...
It's more flexible and compressive, from day 1. Though I suppose a 3mm isn't the best measure for this? I'd like to try on a thicker suit and assess.
For my old suit buoyancy, I was able to use 12 lbs to descend. I'm hoping as it gets older, the new suit will let me drop weight.
Contributing some experience from a recent trip using my new Yulex wetsuit set from Scubapro. This replaced my 10+ year, 3/2mm, Everflex steamer suit.
I used the 3mm long sleeve separates for a liveaboard trip in Palau. I was one of few people diving in a wetsuit. I get cold easily and would...
I haven't seen many posts of folks who have actually been on the BP so happy to come across your post. We arrive in Palau a few days before the LOB leaves and trying to figure out what to do with our time, and whether it's worth the extra money to do a Rock Islands tour. Did the BP have many...
Thanks for your reply! I've heard the same about full front zips, but don't think I've worn one before to know if it's difficult. I've found the chest zip to be a bit easier to handle solo than a back zip. What you shared is worth thinking about for the separate since the jacket is a front zip...
Not seeing much on this board about wetsuit separates, and interested in some feedback from folks. I'm in the market for a new 3mm wetsuit for warm water diving trips. I currently have a 10+ year old Scubapro Everflex 3mm/2mm, chest zip. It worked well for it's duty, but getting it on and off is...
I have 3/2mm Everflex from Scubapro that's a step-in, chest zip. No issues at all with the comfort once I get it on. No issues with the BCD strap. The zipper lays ontop of a layer of neoprene so it's a bit layered just like any other zipped wetsuit. I loved it when I first bought it 10 years and...
Oh wow. I'm also slow on the reply. Oops. I'm back since I'm looking for recommendations on 3mm suits for a trip to Palau in September. Mine is over 10+ years.
I ended up purchasing the 7mm Probe iDry suit for what was supposed to be a liveaboard trip to the Red Sea for March 2020. I think we...
Hello community!
We have a rebooked trip on a live aboard, out of Sharm, from last March. What an f-ing year 2020 was.
Our boat is for the end of March 2021, and we plan to spend the week after traveling Egypt. Flights and hotels not booked yet.
Wondering what it's like there now. Have you...
Hello scuba members!
I'm in the search of a new colder water dive suit. I've tried on multiple traditional brands, so began to research a bit, and learned about Camaro. This board led me to frogskins in the past, which I love, and figured the Probes may be also be good.
I currently have a...
Hi! Curious as to how this suit is working out for you a year later. I'm considering this in 7mm, and this is the first review I've read on this board!
Plus you sound exactly like me as a diver. I hate wearing a wetsuit, but am easily cold, so no choice in the matter. Lol
We were scheduled to go in early September. We had rebooked our trip from late March. But with how things are going in the US, AND the portion of our flight that got us to Egypt and back cancelled, we decided to further postpone our trip to March 2021. :(
Looking forward to (jealously) reading...
Thanks! Think I'm happy to stick with my 7mm. I don't own a 5mm and am taking my new 7mm on a test run in California diving waters next weekend. (Low 60 waters and praying for air temps of 70s.) :)
Thanks for the water temp info! We'll be there on a liveaboard in March and I've been reading the Red Sea is in the low 70s at that time, and was worried my 7mm and frogskins would be too cold. Now I'm wondering if I'll be too hot, and should get a 5mm suit and layer. Hmmmmm.
Thanks for the info! We haven't picked where we're flying into. The LOB we chose will help us decide our travel/flights to port. Though Hurghada and Sharm have the most internal flights from Cairo. We are definitely about maximizing the time we have in Egypt. North will probably be our choice...
Hello everyone.
We're in the final stages of deciding which LOB to book for our trip in March 2020. (YAY!) Our LOB departure date is firm for end of March since we already have our flights.
Any thoughts on routes? I've seen many similar posts, but nothing that has been specific to spring time...
Thanks so much for such a thorough review! We're doing our final considerations for our LOB in March 2020, and the JP Marine is one of two boats we're considering for the Brothers/North route. Could you provide some thoughts on the safety of the boat? Was the safety briefing clear? Obvious that...
