I was curious as to what the water levels are out there now! lol. HAS to be better than it was last summer.

Grand Cayman is it really that expensive?

Went there in Sept 2001 and it CAN be a shocker. It all depends on where you eat. There's the Wharf, which is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant, but also pretty $$$. Then there's a couple other smaller diners in the strip malls that are pretty affordable. My hubby and I found that for lunch, we'd grab a...

    Palau???

I may be able to go to Palau with a few people in September. We'll be staying aound Koror in a hotel my boss' family owns. Anyone know who to dive with there and anything good to request? (Nothing too advanced though!) We my also get to spend some time on Carp Island, which I'm told is...

    Just noticed the new forum

I could go for that Tony!!! My hubby hasn't ever been diving out there, so he has no clue as to how scary it can get out there with some of those whackos. We'd both be out there if anyone wants to do that.

    Lake Pleasant Dive Boat

Haven't been out there diving in ages! (OK, so a year, but still...) We went in June and the viz was VERY poor due to all the algae. I will admit that the cold water felt GOOD though...had on a fleece lined dive skin, I'd recommend at least 4mm suit if you want to go deeper than 45', as that's...

AZSCUBA Club Meeting... Where & When?

LOVE the idea of Thurs nights, or Weds nights too! (Hubby and I have "those" kinds of jobs that RARELY allow weekends off, and we also work nights.)

    Chocolate Stuff

Y'all this stuff is so GOOOOD it's evil. Crunchy on top and gooey towards the bottom. :eyebrow: Chocolate Stuff Beat 2 eggs with a cup of sugar and a half cup of flour. Add a teaspoon of salt. In the microwave, melt together 1 stick of real butter (salted) and 2 fairly heaping tablespoons...

    Tulum / Akumal Dive Operators

I too dove with Akumal Dive Adventures while down there. If you check with them, ask for Marike. She's VERY well familiar with the area cenotes and can take you to some less dived areas there. She's a pretty good DM and instructor. (She certified my hubby while we were there in September.)...

    I'm panicing!

As an airline employee that has forgotten what it's like to travel positive space, I wouldn't sweat it too much. You would be AMAZED at the number of people who show up to take a flight to Mexico with only a driver's license or their SS card...I work the Int'l flights for my airline so I am VERY...

The All Inclusive SCUBA Tattoo Thread

I have two tatts. The first one I got about 11 years ago, the second one is a sting ray I had done last summer. I would tend to agree with those that say get them where you can see them but easily hide them. (Mine are easily visible in shorts and skirts, I use concealer IF I want to hide them...

    Costa Rica???

It looks as if we're headed to Costa Rica for a few days in July. I've only got about 20 dives under my belt, going with someone who has 5 and then my sister who has over 200. How difficult is diving down there and where would y'all suggest going? (I've heard that the Pacific is better, but I...

    Akumal in April/May....

Is the name of the hotel I stay at when I go to Akumal. It's a nice little hotel....clean, ocean front, GREAT staff- even has it's own little conveniece store! It's also right next to Akumal Dive Adventures which is who we dove with last time we were there and they were FABULOUS. We went in...

    Positions....

Have to remember to grab my hubby's butt when we go next month! lol. I usually have both hands behind me, in the small of my back. My old high school swim team self STILL wants to "swim" if I have them any other place!

    HOW do y'all decide???

As an airline employee, I like to think it's TRAVEL AGENTS who control the weather systems around the world! tee hee...couldn't resist that.;)

    Question for y'all...

I was wondering about that. Typically, we do dive side-by-side, but it seemed that when we stopped to look at something on the reef, she end up behind me for maybe a minute. I think this set of dives coming I'm going to let her know at NO point are you going to be behind me, and then yell at me...

    Avila Beach Victim

but it doesn't mean I want to drive yet another animal away from its home and its food source. I put it on par with people who live in the desert to enjoy the quiet and the sounds- then leave their small pets outside overnight and wonder why they were eaten by coyotes or mountain lions. DUH...

What the he** has happened to Cozumel?

and I would like to see these fragile systems protected a lot better. (ie- no more all-inclusives or cruise ships...dislike both of them really.) In the Cayamans, they're actually cutting through the reefs for a new cruise ship dock area...the Mayan Riviera is experiencing a LOT of new high end...

    Question for y'all...

So how close to your buddy should you be while diving? Allow me to present you an example... Last year while diving the reefs in Akumal with my sister, if she was behind me, she was EXTREMELY close. Being a VERY new diver, I was trying my darndest to watch my bouyancy and not to get too close...
