Has anyone been to the Conestoga recently? I am planning to go there tomorrow but it's an hour drive away so wanted to make sure all is still good with the site. Water levels, Covid closures etc...
That is fair, but again life being life, I will be working myself to the bone until my vacation as this is the busiest time of year for the company I work for. So in all practicality, I do not have time for this.
The physical skills themselves are not really the issue. For me, physical...
So I am still quite new to diving and this year I was only able to do a very few dives early in the season due to life being life.
Its now been months since I have been under the water and I am going to be diving in the Dominican Republic in a few weeks time. It seams that every time I stop...
I like the looks of that knee pad, I probably will go with that or some other 'slip-on' knee pad. Thanks for the link :)
Thanks for the suggestion, but the goal here is not to have to buy another new suit :p
Any chance you could provide a link to that 'happy-diver rubber kneepad from a tube'...
So I am looking for some advice on adding knee pads to my wetsuit. Before this thread devolves into a debate about the need for knee pads when you are supposed to be floating mid-water though, lets just agree that sometimes knee pads are legitimately required.
So in my situation, I have...
but... but... but... thats almost 2 hours away! :P
lol I can probably be persuaded to drive that far away if the dives are good enough. I live in the Cornwall area, so all of my few dives to date have been in the local st. lawrence. I will be taking the advanced PADI diving course this year...
I'm up for any dives 70' or less within about an hours drive from Cornwall. Ideally weekend dives as I work to 6PM on weekdays. With enough notice I can possibly get time off during weekdays though. Just practicing skills is good, but wreck dives are better
Ya, that dive this weekend is apparently considered more advanced so they recommended I not do it. Maybe i'm being blind, but I couldn't find a FB page for them though - mind linking to it for me?
I'm just itching to get back in the water :P
Any relatively new divers in the Cornwall area looking to practice skills or just do shore dives? What with work and life, sometimes its hard to find the time to get in the water, so I'm looking to find someone so we can push each other to get in the water as often as possible.
I'm sooo...
Since I don't think there is actually anything worth diving for in Sharbot Lake, does anybody have experience with Kingston dives in general?
I found the Prince Regent and Psyche dive which is at a doable depth and appears to be shore accessible? Most other Kingston dives look like they are...
Anybody out there know of anything good to see when diving in Sharbot Lake (near Kingston).
Thinking of camping in the area and just wanted to find something to look at when diving other than the boat :P
What to you is the advantage of one of these suits over say Scubapro (other than they are made in Canada which I like)?
Do these suits run hotter than normal suits? I.E. would a 5mm BARE be hotter than a 5mm Scubapro? I guess a better question would be specifically which of the BARE suits do...
Great feedback everyone :)
I ended up getting the shearwater perdix ai today and am very pleased with it.
I will definitely be checking out the seaway club and Tom's charter as both sound great :)
That comp was one of the better recommend ones when I did my research. One of the main reasons I didn't end up picking that one is because of its display tech. I wasn't entirely confidant the display would be readable in bright sunlight. Do you have this comp? If so what do you think of it...
Hopefully some of the more experienced divers out there can critique my dive equipment list. My goal is to buy the equipment once and have it last me no matter the type of diving I get into. That being said, let me know if I've picked something that is unnecessarily expensive or useless to...
Thanks for the tips :) I think Ill check out the seaway club. Anybody know what the $60 (yearly I assume) fee gets me other than the ability to dive with the club?
Nope not been to lock 21 yet. I've only dove Ivy Lea, Centeen park, and Cardinal (the Conestoga).
I'd like to hear from people who dive normally with Seaway Valley Divers Club as a few of the people I trained with poo-pooed them for being too close-nit of a group and not the best for newbies...
New to diving here. Just finished PADI OW cert.
I trained with my brother, but I have a feeling he isn't going to have the time available to dive as much as I want, what with a wife and baby on the way :P
I'm just looking to introduce myself and find some local divers who I can join up with...
