Also potentially interested. If JD doesn't end up taking them, I'll probably be back down that way summer/early fall.

    Diving with Ostomy

Sorry to revive a dead thread but seems like I'm likely going to be having surgery to create an ileostomy in the next week or so. Met with the ostomy nurse today who marked the location and went over the basics. My next stop was this forum which was really reassuring, so thank you guys for that...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

For sure. The nose pocket is very large. I don't think you would have any problems with the fit.

Closed: SOLD: OTS Spectrum Full Face Mask

For sale is a like-new OTS Spectrum FFM. I used this mask only once and it's in perfect condition. Includes all original accessories and packaging. Retails new for $399. I'm asking $299 plus shipping...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

Interesting question! It worked out pretty well but overall I'm not sure that FFM diving is right for me. The good: No Leaks! Even when I intentionally flooded the mask, clearing it was super easy. Breathing through my nose was a very cool feeling. I can see using less air on a FFM once...

    Phone dealing question?

Leisure Pro seems to be cutting back lately, but when I bought my Hydros Pro from them two years ago, I got an online/phone quote from them that was significantly less than list. In store prices with them have also been similarly reduced.

Did I get bent? Please help

Honestly, all these symptoms (including those down below the belt) sound more like anxiety than anything else. I worked as a paramedic for several years, and I saw tons of cases of anxiety attacks that manifested with physical symptoms just like this.

    Hello from Croatia !

Wife and I are heading to Croatia this fall for a visit. I was planning to leave my scuba gear at home and travel light...but you may have convinced me otherwise!

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

As someone who has always struggled with mask leak around my smile lines, the fit is fantastic and field of view is great. I've only gotten it wet once so far in the shallow end of the pool and I struggled with the regulator breathing smoothly, but I'm going to try to get it out on a real dive...

New diver in NJ - how to log more dives?

The Sea Gypsies are definitely still around! The value of doing a dive club is easy access to local charters and mentorship opportunities with seasoned northeast divers. It's a whole different ballgame from vacation diving so it helps to have somebody experienced show you the ropes. Highly...

Are Atomic regs really that much better ?

I have an Atomic ST1 along with an M1 octo that I bought new when I started diving. My thinking at that time was, "this is life support equipment so it's okay to spend a lot of money and ensure high quality." I also have a used HOG D3 that I bought for a pony bottle setup. Both regs have been...

Kneeling or sitting on the bottom - I keep tipping over.

What fins are you using? I had some difficulty with my Atomic split fins :angrymob: which are really long with stiff ribs on the sides. They tend to push me forward when trying to kneel .I don't have that problem when I use my shorter drysuit fins (Hollis F1s).

Any suggestions out there for a good quality middle of the road metal detector?

I recently started doing some research into this same subject and the two big ones that keep coming up are the Minelab Excalibur II and the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II.

    Marine life diving around NY?

It's definitely a new challenge, but I think it might be one that's worth taking on. You could get some fantastic results. And just think, you won't be jockeying for position with 12 other divers who all want the same picture of the same turtle!

    Marine life diving around NY?

The idea of wreck diving might not thrill you, but it seems to thrill the fish! I was actually on my first northeast wreck last weekend and I was amazed at the amount of life I saw. Being that it was my first wreck, I didn't bring my camera rig along with me, but I would definitely consider it...

    Dive watch for serious use

Everyone has different concepts of affordable, but as far as serious dive watches (on par with Rolex Sub, Omega Seamaster, etc) the value offered by the Tudor Pelagos is hard to beat. You have to be a fan of larger watches, but it does feel very light weight on the wrist thanks to a titanium...

How does Perdix calculate SAC rate?

I knew math would come back to bite me in the butt one day! Thanks for the useful info all! It seems like Shearwater could imrpove this feature by giving the user an option to use either SAC or RMV plus tank size setting. Or, a happy medium might be to leave SAC alone on the dive...

How does Perdix calculate SAC rate?

Like many of you, I use a Shearwater Perdix AI computer. Today, I decided to compare my SAC rates on my two most recent dives. Both dives were to the same wreck, at the same depth, on the same day. On my first dive, my average SAC was 27.2. on my second dive, it was 19.15. After thinking about...
