Trip Report Cozumel: Winter of the Seahorse, food & lodging info

Cozumel trip report, Dec 23/Jan 4 Here's Yet-another-Cozumel-trip-report, from my Dec/Jan trip. Since there are so many reports, and this was my 9th (8th? 10th?) visit, I'm going to emphasize differences and new discoveries and skip a lot of basics. Logistics: Phildelphia to PDC, then the...

    Blocked IP (range?) in CZM

FYI, IP address 38.65.158.113 seems to be blocked. That's owned by ENI Networks, a Mexican telecom, and is in use at Hotel B on Cozumel, so you may see the irony that guests can't reach ScubaBoard. I don't know if the outbound NAT here is all tied to one address or a subnet.

    Recent water temperature?

Does anyone have recent water temperatures -- surface and at depth? Trying to decide which wetsuit to bring this week and hoping it has cooled off enough for the coral to recover. Thanks!

What would you want in a $2500 regulator?

Inspired by the post from @wetb4igetinthewater that read "What should interest people is genuine innovation. Discussions should be about design features that result in measurable improvements", what features would you want to see in a [hypothetical] $2500 regulator? Here are some of my ideas...

Trip Report Trip report: CZM Dec 2022/Jan 2023

Yet another good trip to Cozumel, so I'll keep this report short, mainly noting things that I found to be new/different/unusual on my 8th trip. Dove with Aldora again -- everything went smoothly as usual. It was nice to see familiar faces, and some new (to me) DMs (Sergio, Juan). Arrived on...

Suggestion Add "Compensated review" checkbox to "Review" category

Suggestion: For new posts where the user chooses the tag "Review" (or that text is present in the title -- if that real-time filtering is possible), add a checkbox to indicate whether a review was compensated, with an optional text box for the user to provide details. Rationale: The content on...

    Review Orcatorch D530 review

Here are my first impressions, before diving with the light. Well packaged, comes with 3 spare o-rings. I like that the battery can be charged from USB (why not USB-C?), and has a prominent LED indicator of the charge. The printed manual is way too small to read without a magnifying glass...

Wanted: Thermulation dive shirt, size small...or repair tips

I'm seeking a Thermalution heated dive shirt, size small, in working condition. Batteries & charger not required, as I've got them already... I've also got a dive shirt, used for one (or maybe 2) dive trips, about 25 (or was it ~40) dives. I thought I rinsed it well, but maybe the switch...

question re. Oceanic ProPlus 3 gas switch (use of QD while submerged)

I've got a new-to-me Oceanic ProPlus 3 and I'm curious about one feature. This is a hosed (console) AI computer, with a quick-disconnect fitting. The computer allows you to define up to 3 gases, each with their own % O2 and FO2 setting. The 3 set gases are supposed to be used during the same...

    Semi-DIY O2 and CO analyzer

I'm convinced of the benefit of analyzing tanks for O2 percentage and presence of CO (carbon monoxide). I was a kickstarter supporter of Cootwo, and still think it was a great concept and form factor. I was unhappy with the lack (and tone) of support from Divenav in the past. On my last dive...
