What would you want in a $2500 regulator?

Inspired by the post from @wetb4igetinthewater that read "What should interest people is genuine innovation. Discussions should be about design features that result in measurable improvements", what features would you want to see in a [hypothetical] $2500 regulator?

Here are some of my ideas, with little-to-no regard to practicality:
  • self-sealing: when not pressurized, both stages of the regulator would be self sealing, so it could be rinsed (or even dropped off a boat!) with no water incursion
  • built-in analyzer: the 1st stage would have a built-in O2 and CO analyzer (upgrade for trimix?), with an LED readout for O2 %, MOD and an audible alarm for CO
  • built-in diagnostics: the 1st stage would have diagnostics recording/displaying the efficiency of gas delivery through the primary LP port, as a measure of whether the regulator needs service
  • built-in dive logging (date, time, depth, gas analysis, gas pressure over the duration of the dive, water temp, gas allocation -- LP port 1, LP port 2, etc -- to more accurately record SAC vs gas used for the BCD or inflating an SMB, etc)
  • all electronic functions would be powered via a rechargeable battery in the 1st stage that is powered via a gas turbine (windmill) -- when pressurized and delivering gas, the regulator recharges it's own battery
  • the 2nd stage would have a long exhaust -- think a corrugated tube that mechanically attaches to the outside of the LP hose, with exhaust bubbles exiting behind the diver's head, near the 1st stage
  • quick-disconnect hose fittings at the 1st stage, so that the regulator set can easily be disassembled and packed compactly for travel
  • 10-year/500 dive normal service intervals
 
I would want mine to have a solid 24ct gold faceplate that weighs about an ounce.....
 
Hmmmm.... the spot price for gold is about $1947/oz. In that case, I'd like my $2500 regulator to have a 2oz solid gold faceplate that is easily removable. :)
Exactly...... A one OZ gold faceplate on a $600 reg. I still would want it to function well......after I changed out the faceplate!
 
I would want my to be titanium and anodized to rainbow colors
 
I would like to be made of a metal with high strength, which does not corrode and always remains shiny and unscratched. No plastic parts, just metal and rubber.
Possibly a lightweight metal (titanium? some sort of aeronautic aluminium league?)
Second stage fully serviceable with no tools and even underwater.
First stage piston with 5-ports turret, but fully sealed, and with IP that can be adjusted from outside, like the old Cressi FX.
Second stage with a knob "109 style" and with a large exhaust valve.
Officially user-serviceable and with service kits easily available.

But every bit of it titanium and a Venturi control so maybe really a G250 and if a G250T then a titanium back case with a carbon fiber face plate and titanium bump ring, hard purge button of titanium and air barrel and adjustment knob of titanium. And of course a Mk 10 or Mk 5 of titanium.

Electronic servo operated regulators that have an adaptive, learning algorithm that mimics the human breathing pattern and is predictive of future needs are possible.

When we take a step, we do not think about where the earth is, we know it intrinsically from millions of years of evolution, we know the earth will come up to meet the soles of our shoes, no thought is needed, it just happens. When I breath, air rushes into my lungs, this does not require thought, it just happens. That is predictive, I know it will happen without thought or will and that is what I mean by a predictive breathing machine, it does not need to know or compute, it just does what it does transparently to my breathing patterns and needs.
