    Question Banning.

I would rather have active moderators paying attention and liberal with banning undesired behavior over no moderation allowing uncontrolled atmosphere. I have been on other forums (unrelated to scuba) that have no moderation and people bully, post completely unrelated information and destroy the...

Favorite Memories from the SB Invasion 2022 Cozumel

One very late comment just from the top of my mind. This was my first Invasion experience and I really enjoyed all of it. I brought a book to read in case I had a free moment but didn't get to read a single page out of it (which says a lot about being occupied with more interesting activities)...

Info Packing, Travel, Resort Info, and Diving Tips for the SB Invasion 2022 to Cozumel

OK, I just answered my own question. The hotel has testing services for a fee of $35. No restrictions upon entry to Mexico. Only the exit and return to the U.S. needs a test.

Info Packing, Travel, Resort Info, and Diving Tips for the SB Invasion 2022 to Cozumel

I was looking at the CDC website about travel restrictions. U.S. residents returning are required to get a Covid test no more than 24 hours prior to travel back. Rapid tests are supposedly valid is accompanied by a Teledoc health assessment. Is there a service in Cozumel that can provide a Covid...

    Seeking pressure chamber recommendations

You are much better off hacking a pressure attachment to the pressure sensor only then having full access to the computer's controls. When you see some of Shearwater's videos, they are doing just that. They demo a dive and add pressure to the sensor with pressurized gas and push controls to show...

    In-line adjuster

Could we place two teflon or nylon O-rings (one each) on the outboard sides of the O-ring pair? This addition does not aid with sealing but maybe prevents over-travel of the spindle so the O-rings don't get pressed against the threads. These maybe need to be very thin and maybe custom made by...

    Need stiff soled wetsuit booties

Can the neoprene liner inside of these Deep 6 "Thick Boots" be removed? Deep 6 Thick Boots Maybe I will get a larger pair for drysuit diving, also? I have neoprene socks on that drysuit.

    Need stiff soled wetsuit booties

Thanks for all the suggestions. I already use the Converse Chuck Taylors for drysuit diving. With a wetsuit I'm going to need more foot insulation. I could wear a thick neoprene sock and keep wearing the Chuck Taylors, maybe?

    Need stiff soled wetsuit booties

I used to use Akona molded sole booties. They had nice stiff soles and helped with efficient flutter kicking and frog kicking. Those wore out and I got Mares Trilastic booties and the soles are too flexible. I hate them so much I just wear my hole stricken/cracked old Akonas. Any suggestion for...

To buy or not to buy new regs?

I just wanted to add another explanation. Parts are most likely going to be available for decades. Most parts in a repair and overhaul kit are nothing but O-rings, seals and the seats. Seat designs don't change often (if at all) and O-rings and seals are just standard commercial and military...

USIA undergarments (Exotherm 1 and 2) overrun sale ($86 and $167)

I was not sure where to post this. (Hot deals seem to be for dealer postings so I'm going to post here. I am a customer with an actual purchase review.) (Moderators: Please move to proper location if I have made a mistake.) -------------------------------------------------- In case some of you...

GroPro 7, dive lights, Shearwater Petrel Stolen

Look into your personal computer that you download the dive logs to. The serial number of the Petrel will be listed and you should post that and let buyers be aware of that number in case someone tries to sell it. When the Petrel is first turned on and allowed to boot-up to the default screen...

Need replacement oxygen analyzer for intermittent use. Long lasting sensors?

Thanks, Over the long run it does make sense. Get a unit that lasts 2 or 3 times longer for a little higher price is better. It seems better not to worry about the "petty" problems with sensor failures and focus more on the task of diving. I'm likely sold on it unless others have additional...

Need replacement oxygen analyzer for intermittent use. Long lasting sensors?

I partial pressure blend my own gas. I have a preference for EAN36 and mix pony bottles with 50% and greater oxygen.

Need replacement oxygen analyzer for intermittent use. Long lasting sensors?

Hi Folks, The oxygen sensor for my analyzer failed on me again. (After around 18 months.) I only use it intermittently every several months or so and some would argue 18 month life from a sensor is pretty good. I was using an Oxycheq home built version with the panel meter and R-17S sensor. I...

Steel 120 tank - any regrets buying one?

I see, I should have read more messages instead of skimming. In that case, you may consider the 120 and the 130. The 130 is similarly tall but slightly wider in diameter. Yes, it is heavier. I don't run it much since I don't like the height. I usually bring it with me on boats to use as a spare...

Steel 120 tank - any regrets buying one?

Has the OP stated what type of diving he or she is doing? My answer really depends on what you are doing and how tall and heavy (lifting) the diver is. I am 5'9" and weigh 150 lbs. Most of my diving is off charter boats. I own Faber 100, 120, 117, and 130. Also Al 80 and Worthington 100. I...

    Kidde 2.2 cfm bad experience

Was the shaft breakage due to fatigue stressing on the shaft? Is the breakage always in the same spot.? It sounds like the shafts may have a weak spot or a "notch" that may be initiating a crack. (If that is the problem.) Maybe get rid of the notch by grinding it out so corners are round or put...
