I did the Cozumel-Playa del Carmen-Cancun-Isla Mujeres round trip yesterday for a whale shark excursion and it's a bit of a chore. And I was in a guided group that didn't have to navigate taxis between the land locations. It can be done but it'll take a couple of hours, at least, and not a lot...
Glad to hear you had good experiences with Scuba Tony. I've been hitting a few threads singing their praises because I hadn't heard any mention of them among the dive operators people recommend. My wife and I dove with them three days this trip and they were great each time.
I'm finishing up my first trip to Cozumel. My wife and I are not very experienced divers. I think we're at around 30-40 dives now. We dove with Scuba Tony and they were great. We were getting about 60 minutes of bottom time per tank which is about as good as my current big breathing will allow...
I'm currently in Cozumel and my wife and I have been diving with Scuba Tony and they've been great. It's my first time here, first time drift diving, so I have no prior history.
I was part of this same group. My wife and I were the newbie divers of the bunch. Everybody was very nice and helpful, staff and fellow guests alike! Don't have anything to add to Janie's review, it's pretty spot on. We had a great time.
Todd.
I just went through the OW certification process (NAUI). Here's my newbie two bits: when my wife and I signed up for the class, we had no idea about the different agencies, the course was convenient for us because it was offered through our local YMCA. It turns out the LDS running the course is...
I just finished my OW certification over the weekend. I bought my fins and mask during the classes. I thought it helped me be more comfortable since I didn't have to fiddle with them or end up with something that didn't fit right (I have a large foot). That said, my wife went through everything...
I'm taking classes at the Prospect Park YMCA. The program is run by Ocean Horizons.
Good luck with your fins! Definitely try them on with whatever boots you're going to use.
Good to hear. I'm 13/14 so hopefully the foot pockets will have enough headroom for me and the boot.

Stopped into the store on my way into work this morning and walked out with a pair of boots and a pair of Hollis F1s. It came down...
Thanks for tha advice. I'll definitely go boots first then fins. Hopefully, I'll be able to find my own dream combo. I'm a bit worried that a lot of the fins top out at size 14 or 15 which doesn't give me much room to play with as far as boots go. We'll see.
I'm an okay swimmer. It's something I'm going to work on.
I'll definitely pick out some boots or socks to try all the fins on with.
i'll add the Dive Rites to my list.
