    Best fins for frog kicking

I have used both the F1 and the Jet. The biggest difference I have found is that the Jet, being what I believe is an older design, has an odd foot pocket. That said, you can definitely fit a wider variety of stuff in a Jet. My rock boots and my chucks fit as do my neoprene boots in my Jets...

    New to doubles

Once I got mine trimmed out right I wondered why anyone would ever dive a single. I prefer doubles. With that said. Get training and help. Intro tech is a good idea. Depending on your diving background, you will need to have help on your hose routing and set up. Buy a collapsible...

    parts for life

As long as the shop your using has you entered in the SP system, which they should if they are getting replacement parts for your reg, then any SP shop will be able to look you up. At 100 plus dives a year I recommend yearly service, and depending on what those dives are sometimes sooner.

What do men wear under their wetsuits???

Dive brand compression shorts. Any will work though.

Dump button spring AIR 2 3rd Gen.

Try another shop. The annual in January should show in the SP system. This would be a very minimal fee fix. Where are you?

Myrtle beach or The Oriskany in Sep.

Moorehead City and Wilmington are addictive. Sharks, wrecks, vis, depths are varied... End of June, July, and August trips this year hint to my addiction.

Dump button spring AIR 2 3rd Gen.

Parts like this are available to your local SP shop. Springs are usually only found to be faulty when they fail and are not normally replaced during regular service. I will not be surprised if you are able to just find someone to simply replace this spring cheap. Opening that part will give...

    Wilmington...

I went out today with Aquatic Safaris and did 2 dives on the Hyde wreck. Excellent weather and vis. Lots of fish with all the usual suspects on hand. A good number of sharks. I enjoyed the day and the folks at Aquatic Safaris were good to dive with. I will in fact be back. I just wanted...

Anyone have experience with the scubapro Evertec LT drysuit?

I just recently got one. First impressions are very good. I unfortunately do not have enough time in it to give a thorough evaluation. I am very satisfied so far.

    Shoes with flippers

I wear Chuck Taylor's with my fins. I absolutely love them. I could not find a good fitting bootie. The chucks are awesome for this task.

    Lake Jocassee update

What are the odds that you have a 3 mil shorty? I see lots of people adding 3 mil shorties under their 5 mil. Hood and gloves are necessary below 60'. Right now, 45-50 is where the first cold layer lives off the ramp. After that the normal 80-90 comes on kind of strong.

Is it ok to reuse regulator parts?

Awap I do agree with many of your points. You and I are not far off. If you don't want to "remove" an o ring, in a lot of cases they can be inspected in place. Not subjecting them to probably the harshest treatment they will receive, which is removal and re installation. I understand the...

Is it ok to reuse regulator parts?

I was not being evasive, I felt that I was clear. I apologize if you did not understand what I wrote. If I remove an o ring, I replace it. If I didn't have a source for parts or the know how to do my own work, I would pay to have it done.

Is it ok to reuse regulator parts?

Can you breath under water without your, I guess recreational doo dads? ---------- Post added June 10th, 2014 at 12:16 AM ---------- The question was would I reuse a no ring. The answer was that I would absolutely not choose to skimp on the service of my regs. No where in my answer did I say...

Is it ok to reuse regulator parts?

Is the place I'm going to choose to save money in my life really suggested by anyone to be on the very inexpensive small parts that insure my breathing gas is delivered without fail as I'm underwater? I can think of many other ways to save less than $100 per year on the very high side.

Ready to buy gear, what about a BP/W

Military types should feel right at home in a harness. I did. I do from time to time wear a jacket bcd in pool classes. I will never go back from my bp/w for my diving. Remember, tech diving is just recreational diving with extra details during the dive. Those dirty tech types enjoy...

    Nassau cruise ship question...

With Carnival, unless you book your dive through them, your not guaranteed of being able to make the trip times. This is why there is a dive in Freeport. UNEXSO is the dive charter that Carnival uses.

    Leaking mask

So the masks leak air when your trying them on? I shave just under my nose to prevent leaks there, but an improperly sized mask will leak no matter what you do.
