There are now automated nightly builds available on github: Releases · subsurface/nightly-builds

Firmware D01-6C is the new firmware. Subsurface 5.0.10 is the latest release, which does not yet have the fixes to support this new Excursion firmware. Unfortunately there hasn't been a new subsurface release in a while, and you'll need to use a development build for now.
The link to the...
It's not a problem if you don't have the latest development build. Those later fixes are not related to the excursion download problem and thus won't make a difference for you. You just needed a build with the excursion fixes.
I don't know why you need to pair on Windows. On Linux I can connect...
I never noticed any problems with the device discovery or connection with my Excursion during development. Do you have activated Sync mode on the Excursion? (I assume you did, just checking to be 100% sure.)
The log file shows that a command was send to the dive computer, but no response was received. That might indicate an issue at the bluetooth layer. Can you also show the subsurface logging?

You can also try a build from the Github actions: Actions · subsurface/subsurface
Choose one of the successful Pull Requests builds in the list (but not master), and there you can download a zip file with the Windows artifacts from that build.
There has been no subsurface release since I pushed the new deep6 firmware changes. You can try one of the daily builds:
https://subsurface-divelog.org/downloads/daily/
The fixes for the new Deep6 firmware are available in libdivecomputer. It may take some time to appear in the applications, but it should become available soon.
The battery is still good.
I'm aware that repairing the light is likely too expensive. That's why I want to have a look myself. Maybe it's something simple. If not, no big deal. I already have a replacement, so it's more out of curiosity, then expecting to be able to repair it.
I have an Big Blue AL1200XWP focus light that's not working properly anymore. The light still works fine at full power, so the LED is still good. But when reducing the brightness, it starts to flicker and turns off after a few seconds. The battery indicator also turns red for a couple of...
Good news, I believe I have found a workaround for this problem.
To give it a try, download this build:
https://libdivecomputer.org/builds/experimental/windows/libdivecomputer-0.dll
and copy the dll into the Diving Log installation directory. Backup the existing dll, so you can restore it...
Can you try to download a full memory dump of the dive computer? Simply enable both the "Log Errors" and "Dump File" checkboxes under Advanced settings:
https://www.divinglog.de/blog/?page_id=1879
Note that downloading a full memory dump is very slow over bluetooth, so if you also have the...
It's very unlikely the atom2 backend will work. The atom2 protocol is a fairly recent protocol, while the n2ition is a much older device. You'll probably have more luck with one of the seiko based backends (n2ition3 or edy). But that's just a guess of course.
I'm still looking for the zoom gear!
BTW, the Hugyfot zoom gear for the Tokina 10-17mm is also used for these Canon lenses:
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
I'm not convinced having the device upload your dives directly to some online service is a good idea. I have two good reasons for that. The first one is that it requires internet access, which is not always available on many diving locations. I usually travel with my laptop, and can easily...
