    Cable connector o rings

The small o rings inside the hose connector to the Cobalt have gone. Fortunately I long purchased a complete spare house, but would like to get the required o rings so that I can still have a spare. Is there a source for them? These are the ones just under the central pin in the connector. Thanks!

    Cobalt 2 firmware update failure

Ron @RonR - there is an issue with updating to either 2.5 or the trial 2.6 firmware from 2.4. I charged the Cobalt 2 from the wall to 100%. Plugged it in and MacDive recognized it. Downloaded the firmware updates (tried 2.5 and then 2.6 when the following failure occurred. It reoccurred for...

    Shoutout to Sea Saba

We signed up with Sea Saba and Queen’s Gardens for our fifth dive trip to Saba. And that’s when things went weird. We paid the package cost. And then the trip was postponed four times (two for medical and two for hurricanes). To be clear Sea Saba and Queen’s Gardens were well within their rights...

    Cobalt 2 Compass Calibration

Hi, trying to calibrate my wife's Cobalt 2. We run through the two step process under Calibrate and get Success! When I push the button for Save, we get a tone and then the compass freezes. I can use the buttons to go back up a level to calibrate and start over. Same result (over and over ...)...

I've posted my report and link to photos at Indonesia Diving 2015 We did a photo workshop with Underwater Tribe and then 10 days at Wakatobi followed by 7 nights on the Pelagian. Given that this was our third trip to Wakatobi (first on the Pelagian) we obviously like it. We've already reserved...

    Divi Divi Air

There's been a few posts about Divi Divi Curacao<>Bonaire so I thought I'd add my experience with them. As always this is a small sample and your expectations and experiences may vary. We have flown Divi Divi since American Airlines quite flying to Bonaire; a half dozen or more times. They...

    Cobalt 2 Battery Life

I have a Cobalt and my wife a Cobalt 2. Her battery discharges much much faster than mine does while not diving and in sleep mode. It appears that her computer wakes up thinking it's diving (but this is based on only a few random observations). It may be related to her screen brightness being in...

Help with S90 and Inon S2000

I have been using this setup (FIX housing with fiber cable) and am now trying to upgrade my skills. I am having trouble with STTL while using Aperture mode. I have installed CHDK and force the shutter speed to 1/250 (verified in the resulting images). Camera flash is set to AUTO in the menu...

    FIX viewfinder magnifier

Has anyone found one? I understand that a Underwater Viewfinder UNZ-2444 is supposed to attach to the rails on the S-90 (and other) FIX housings but have not been able to find one for sale. (here's a photo taken with my S-90 in Raja Ampat last fall) thanks, Andy

FIX and S-90 Rear Wheel Issue

This might just be me ... but ... With a foam insert on the front half of the housing (apparently needed on some housings), the rear wheel on the housing reliably turns the rear wheel on the camera but only until I am 10-15 feet under - at which point the housing rear wheel turns without...

    UWL-04 lens caddy

I have moved up to an S90 and FIX housing and added my first wide angle lens - the UWL-04 with the split 67/52 mm FIX adapter following Reef Photo's recommendation. What I'd like to find out is how folks carry the wide angle underwater. The split adapter doesn't seem to allow for a carrier...

    ID help

Can you help me ID this little guy (6" long or so) and this other guy (12" or more)? They're happily living in Fiji, but not in my ID books (at least that I can find). (I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this request.) Thanks, Andy

    Fiji - Levuka

Hi, does anyone have experience with Ovalau Watersports in Levuka? We like the low-key atmosphere of the place but I'm wondering about the diving. We are mostly interested in poking around seeing the little creatures and unusual ones, although a hammerhead or two would be welcome...

    Diving on Tahiti itself

Has anyone done any diving on the Island of Tahiti itself? Is it worth the effort? Which sites? Which operator? It looks like I'll have a day there before heading to Bora Bora this February. thanks, Andy

    First photo

I lurked on this newsgroup for some time before I went for the C-5050 and housing. While on a business trip to St. Thomas (I know), I got to try it out while snorkeling. Attached is my favorite. On the 21st we're off to Bonaire.
