They no longer carry bladders for my wing. But, I did get some advice regarding patching the wing.
Breathability (or unbreathability) of the octopus is more otfen a result it is tuned, rather than the quality of the second stage. Manufacters and shops tend to detune the octopus to minimize freeflows.
I had my MK25 converted to DIN 2 years ago at a shop in NYC. I believe I paid $55 for it. No additional charge for installation. The shop insisted that they do it for me.
I'm sure that any Scubapro dealer can convert your regs to DIN for you.
I've spearfished all over SoCal (PV, Laguna, SD) for many years before relocating to the east coast. What I learned was that you can take smaller fish with a large gun, but not the other way around.
